Work Center Master - Entry

 

Through Work Center Master, you can add and maintain information related to various Work Centers in the production department. A work center is a workstation or a group of people who can perform similar manufacturing operations and have similar operation capabilities and similar capacity.

 

By default, a list of all Work Centers that have already been defined will be displayed as follows -

 

 

Click on icon appearing on the top right corner of the screen to 'Add' or 'Edit' Work Centers. Following screen will be displayed-

You can not delete an existing Work Center.

Field Description of Work Center Master - Entry

A list of Work Centers that have already been defined will be displayed as follows-

 

 

Click on button to add a Work Center. As a result, a new record will be added at the end of the list.

 

Field Description of the grid -

Work Center:

(Type : Alphanumeric, Length : 5)

 

While 'Adding' a new Work Center, enter a unique Code for it. This is the code by which the Work Center will be referred to throughout IMMS.

 

Please note that the system does not allow to have same Codes for a Work Center and a Shop. Therefore, it will check whether the same Code has been used to define a Shop as well or not. If the same Code is being entered, than the system will display an appropriate message.

 

In 'Edit' mode, the Work Center Code of the selected record will be displayed which can NOT be changed.

 

Work Center Description:

(Type : Alphanumeric, Length : 40)

 

While 'Adding' a new Work Center, press <ENTER> or click on the field to enter the description for the new Work Center Code.

 

In 'Edit'mode, description of the selected Work Center Code will be displayed automatically. You can change it in 'Edit' mode.

 

Work Center Type:

Select 'Machine', 'Labour' or 'Inhouse SubContracting' from the given popup.

 

A Work Center can be either machine dominated or labour dominated. If a Work Center is machine dominated, it means that there are many machines in the Work Center. If a Work Center is Labour dominated, it means that there are many people working in Work Center. 'Inhouse SubContracting' means some of the manufacturing will be done internally.

 

Machine Rate:

Press <ENTER> or click on the field to access a list of existing Machine Rates defined through Rate Master- Entry option. Select your desired Rate from the list by scrolling down to it and pressing <ENTER>.

 

Labour Rate:

Press <ENTER> or click on the field. Specify the Labour rate by pressing <F5> key to access a list of existing Rates defined through Rate Master- Entry option. Select your desired Rate from the list by scrolling down to it and pressing <ENTER>. Alternatively you can also enter the Rate Code.

 

Overhead 1 Rate:

Press <ENTER> or click on the field to access a list of existing Overhead Rates defined through Rate Master- Entry option. Select your desired Rate from the list by scrolling down to it and pressing <ENTER>.

 

Overhead 2 Rate:

Press <ENTER> or click on the field to access a list of existing Overhead Rates defined through Rate Master- Entry option. Select your desired Rate from the list by scrolling down to it and pressing <ENTER>.

 

Preventive Maintenance Time:

(Type : Numeric, Length : 4)

 

Press <ENTER> or click on the field and enter the time required for Preventive Maintenance of the Work Center. The time can be in Hours, Days or Months.

 

Preventive Maintenance Unit:

Press <ENTER> or click on the field and select either 'Hours', 'Days' or 'Months' from the given popup. This is the unit of the Preventive Maintenance Time for the Work Center.

 

Work Center Capabilities:

(Type : Alphanumeric, Length : 2500)

 

Press <ENTER> or click on the field. Now enter the capabilities of the current Work Center. It can be any description.

Rate Description

This section displays the details of selected Rate Codes as specified through Rate Master- Entry option. The details will be displayed only when you click on the Rate Code in the grid.

Rate Description:

Description of the selected Rate Code will be displayed for your reference. It can NOT be changed here.

 

Standard Rate:

Standard Rate of the selected Rate Code will be displayed for your reference. It can NOT be changed here.

 

Current Rate:

Current Rate of the selected Rate Code will be displayed for your reference. It can NOT be changed here.

Once you have entered all the information, click on 'Save' button to save or 'Cancel' button to discard. The control will go back to the list.
